The health and safety of our West Metro community is our number one priority. The information below represents the current precautions WMS is utilizing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is subject to change over time as expert recommendations and regulatory guidance evolve (or until the government tells us otherwise).
On opening night, our board members will go over sanitization protocols and other need-to-know information with each team before games begin. West Metro Softball will ask all participants to sign an acknowledgement of protocols and a liability waiver on the first night of games.
Masks will be highly encouraged while playing and in the park.
Each team will be given new game balls not to be shared with the opposing team
Sanitization stations will be set up at each field – bats and balls can be sanitized between innings.
Dugouts and equipment will be cleaned and sanitized between games. Time between games have been increased to allow for dugouts to clear fully before the next team plays.
Spectators will be asked to maintain social distancing by sitting or standing at least 6 feet from others not in their group. WMS strongly encourages 2021 spectators to bring blankets or chairs to prevent crowding in bleacher areas.
Players or spectators that have or have had any of the following symptoms in the last 14 days must remain at home:
Fever (temperature at/above 100.4 °F [38 °C])
Dry cough or sore throat
Shortness of breath
Unusual aches and pains
Loss of taste or smell
Players or spectators who have tested positive or have come in to contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, must remain at home and observe a 14 day quarantine before returning to the field.
